According to the myth, Gavogiannos was a builder from epirus who came to Delfi at 1890 when the whole village ,named kastri, had to move some kilometres away because of the upcoming excavation of the ancient city with the famous temple of Apollo and the oracle. Gavoggianos apart from being a builder ,was a wizard and when he didn't get paid for his job , he cursed the whole place to have bad crops every year. So , nowdays people gather to kick out Gavogianno and his curse from the village as a conteporary way of celebrating the upcoming spring with wine, traditional pies , songs and dances.
